5. Course Objectives:

This course provides the knowledge about mechanics of deformation body, concepts of internal force, deformation, stress and strain as well as the state of stress and theories of failure which is used to design the machinery and mechanical elements. Indeed, it includes the methods for determining internal force, stress and strain of structure in elastic range under axial loading, torsion, bending. From this knowledge, the problem of machinery design is realized meeting the criterions of strength, stability.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The course provides basic knowledge on deformed solid mechanics, basic concepts of deformation, internal force, stress, displacement, stress state & durability theories used in machine design calculations. & machine details. The course equips students with methods to determine internal forces, stresses, and displacements for structures and rod-shaped details working in the linear elastic domain subjected to tensile/compression, torsion, and bending loads, thereby solving Basic problems in calculating and designing machine parts based on durability, rigidity and stability conditions.
