5. Course Objectives:

This is one of the foundational courses of the engineering major. This course provides for students essential knowledge which includes the engineering materials, manufacturing conditions for design, production design method, design with respect to static and dynamic load. Additionally, the methods for designing machine elements such as: gear, bearing, shaft, keys, coupling, power screw, threaded joints, welded Joints are equipped. Finally, skills for calculation and design of mechanical transmission system including belt, chain, gear systems are provided for students. This course will offer for students methodologies to make solution relating to calculation and design of machinery. Students can employ this knowledge to realize the major project and capstone project.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This subject is the basic subject of the engineering block, including two contents of Machine Principles and Machine Details. The content of machine principles equips learners with the necessary knowledge about the principles of structure structure, methods of determining the dynamic factors, the dynamics of the structure, the dynamics of the mechanism and the machine. The detailed content of the machine equips the theoretical basis and calculation methods to design the machine parts and machine parts present in most modern machines, providing the basic knowledge of the working principles and results. structuring machine parts, fostering the ability to independently solve problems of calculating and designing machine parts and mechanical drive systems, very important contents in machine design in general.
This subject helps students to be able to solve technical problems in machine kinematics computation, design sequence of machine parts. From there, students will apply the knowledge in the subject to solve machine design problems when implementing subject projects and graduation projects.
