5. Course Objectives:

The "Supply Chain Management and Design" course provides students with foundational knowledge and essential skills to understand and optimize logistics and supply chain operations. Students will gain an understanding of fundamental concepts in supply chains, the roles, objectives, and importance of logistics activities in a modern context. The course delves into the determination of facility locations, supply chain network modeling, resource planning and management, as well as strategies for capacity adjustment and short-term scheduling. Additionally, students will learn how to manage material flows using methods such as Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Just-In-Time (JIT), and Efficient Consumer Response (ERC). Finally, the course focuses on effective inventory management and the design of warehouses and material handling systems to optimize the overall supply chain.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course aims to help students to understanding the definitions of Logistics and Supply Chain, understanding the concept and key points of Supply Chain Management. Ability to design a Supply chain and its Logistics systems. Ability to analyze and measure the performance of existing supply chain and logistics systems.
