5. Course Objectives:

"At the end of the course, students will be able to: - Explain the different types, sizes and scopes of the travel and tourism industry and its relationship to other travel and tourism sectors - Analyse the key influences impacting the global business travel environment and their impact on business travel agents - Evaluate the different business approaches used by business travel agents to meet customer needs and maximise revenue - Recommend improvements to customer relationship management strategies for business travel agents Students will be able to interpret, analyse and evaluate a range of policies, business data, sources and information to inform evidence-based decision making, using digital literacy to access data.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The aim of this unit is to develop students’ knowledge of the corporate travel environment and the business travel agent’s operational practices necessary to meet the needs of the corporate traveller. Through research of current industry practice and the use of case studies, students will critically evaluate the globalbusiness tourism market.
