5. Course Objectives:

The objectives of the Travel Distribution Management course are to focus on the following main points: a. Provide in-depth knowledge of distribution management in the travel industry, helping students understand the distribution channels, processes and strategies for distributing tourism products. b. Develop practical skills in building and managing distribution networks, thereby improving the ability to work in the modern tourism business environment. c. Master different distribution models and the ability to apply them in practice. d. Understand the factors that influence distribution decisions, including target markets, consumer trends and technology. e. Develop skills to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of current distribution channels. f. Be able to design distribution strategies suitable for each type of tourism service. Practice communication and negotiation skills, necessary to work with partners in the service supply chain.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This unit is designed to provide students with an understanding of the complex chain of distribution in the travel industry. The unit will cover the nature of relationships between organisations at different stages of the chain of distribution: principals, wholesalers and retailers. Students will research interrelationships and how these have changed owing to a range of factors including increased integration, technology and consumer trends.
