The Front Office Management course identifies specific objectives aimed at the following key points: a. Know how to organize the front office operations, master the main functions of the front office b. Understand the job description and responsibilities of the front office staff c. Understand the importance of effective interaction between the front office and other departments of the hotel d. Operate the reservation system e. Understand and skillfully apply the check-in and check-out procedures f. Apply revenue management, statistics and reporting g. Understand hospitality management and human resource training h. Understand the importance of ensuring security and safety for guests staying i. Consider the relationship and coordination between the front office and the housekeeping department j. Practice sales methods and skills of reception staff k. Apply technology in the management and operation of the front office l. Understand the importance of attitude and standards when communicating and providing services to customers. Know how to solve and handle real-life situations."

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The Front Office is the face of the accommodation sector and has an invaluable role in elevating and enhancing the customer experience and relationship. The aim of this unit is to provide students with the understanding of how the hotel Front Office is managed and its importance within accommodation services; the day-to-day management of the Front Office and gain an understanding of what is involved in each phase of the guest experience as well as managing in room sales revenue and the importance of yield management in maximising revenue.
