5. Course Objectives:

The course provides comprehensive knowledge of the scale, nature and development trends of the tourism industry in the context of globalization. Students will be equipped with statistical data analysis methods to assess the value of the tourism industry in different territories, and understand the challenges and opportunities in sustainable tourism development on a global scale. The course focuses on developing critical thinking and in-depth analytical skills, enabling students to evaluate destination development policies, process business data and make evidence-based decisions. Students will be trained in a multidimensional approach to studying the intercultural and international aspects of the tourism and travel industry. In addition, the course also focuses on developing skills to communicate creative ideas through digital media, while encouraging self-learning, self-assessment and reflection. These skills will help students become competent and responsible professionals in the field of global tourism.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This unit provides students with an understanding of the scale, nature and development of tourism at a global level. Students will use statistics to analyse the scale and value of tourism in all global regions. Having identified trends, they will explain these trends, most notably that of continued growth. They will be required to examine the growth in different global regions and specific destinations.
