Brief Course Description

1. Course Title:

Fundamental Mathematics for Engineering 2

2. Language of Instruction:

Tiếng Việt

3. Course Code:

INT547121

4. Credits:

3

5. Course Objectives:

The Fundamentals of Engineering Mathematics 2 course provides students with basic and advanced knowledge of vector functions, functions of multiple variables, multiple integrals, line integrals, and surface integrals. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the concepts and properties of vector functions, including derivatives, integrals, unit tangents, unit normals, and curvature. At the same time, the course helps students master the concepts of functions of multiple variables such as partial derivatives, directional derivatives, gradients, free extrema, and maximum and minimum values on closed and bounded domains. Students will learn how to use multiple integrals and line integrals to calculate quantities related to areas, volumes, and physical problems, as well as apply important theorems such as Green's and the change of variables formula.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The Fundamental Mathematics for Engineering 2 course provides basic and advanced knowledge of vector functions, multivariable functions, multiple integrals, line integrals, and surface integrals. The content includes: derivatives and integrals of vector functions, concepts of multivariable functions such as partial derivatives, gradients, free extrema, and maximum and minimum values on closed and bounded domains. The course also covers multiple integrals (double and triple integrals), line integrals, surface integrals, and important applications in calculating areas, volumes, and solving engineering problems. Important theorems such as Green's and the formula for changing variables are also presented in detail. The course combines theory and practical application, helping students develop mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills.
