5. Course Objectives:
The course "Optimization" provides students with fundamental knowledge of optimization problems, including linear programming and nonlinear programming. Students will gain a solid understanding of the basic theory of linear programming, duality problems, the simplex and dual simplex methods, as well as optimality conditions for nonlinear programming problems. The course also introduces typical economic and engineering problems that can be formulated as linear programming problems, along with basic methods for solving nonlinear programming problems. The course aims to develop students' analytical thinking and their ability to apply optimization tools and methods to address practical problems in economics and engineering.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
This module introduces optimization problems and types of optimization problems; basic theory of linear programming and duality problems; monomorphic method and dual monomorphic method; some typical problems in economics and engineering lead to linear programming problems; optimal conditions for nonlinear programming problems; Some basic methods for solving nonlinear programming problems.
