5. Course Objectives:

The "Optimal Design of Robot" course provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in methods and tools for optimizing robot design. Students will learn to design mechanisms for serial, parallel, and other robotic configurations, while analyzing and evaluating their mechanical efficiency. The course also introduces advanced techniques in material selection, drivetrain analysis, and motor power optimization for robotic systems under working conditions. Students will apply these principles to design optimal robotic systems for industrial and research applications.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course provides the methodologies and tools for designing robots with serial and parallel configurations as well as other types of configurations of today's robots. Students will learn the method of optimal mechanical design of today's robots. Common mechanisms such as series and parallel mechanisms, especially combined mechanisms. Mechanical efficiency analysis in mechanical systems considers mechanical resistance (friction) and efficiency limitations of steering systems and actuators. Drive system in robot, required motor power characteristics when considering robot system design, mechanical efficiency and its working condition, design process using materials science (selection of materials with material strength analysis) and including automatic movement system, actuator, power supply.
