5. Course Objectives:

"The Digital Signal Processing course provides students with fundamental and advanced knowledge of the theory and applications of digital signal processing. Students will: Understand the basic concepts of signals and systems, including discrete signals, LTI (Linear Time-Invariant) systems, and transformations such as DFT and FFT. Master digital signal processing techniques such as digital filtering, sampling, and signal reconstruction. Apply digital signal processing tools and software to solve practical problems in fields like telecommunications, control, and audio processing. Develop skills in analyzing, designing, and implementing digital signal processing algorithms on hardware and software platforms.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course equips students of Robotics and AI Engineering Technology with fundamental concepts and knowledge in the field of digital signal processing such as analog signals, digital signals, their frequency ranges and their relationship between them. The z transform and its application. Discrete Fourier transform (DFT). Fast Fourier transform algorithm FFT. Frequency and impulse response characteristics of ideal discrete filter circuits. The specifications of the actual filter circuit. Synthesized FIR filter by window method. Introducing the optimal FIR filter synthesis according to Chebyshev's theorem and Remez's algorithm, introducing the frequency sampling method. Introduction to the synthesis of IIR filtering by pulse invariant and bilinear methods.
