5. Course Objectives:

This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make effective decisions in business and technology contexts, especially under conditions of risk and uncertainty. Through the course, students will master the tools and techniques of decision theory, including discrete and continuous Bayesian analysis, multi-attribute decision analysis, the value of information, and factors influencing biased decisions. At the same time, students will develop the ability to use models and software to support decision making, logical thinking in situation analysis, and apply effective management methods. The course also emphasizes the role of management information systems in supporting decision making and encourages students to form the habit of self-study, effective teamwork, as well as continuous improvement of professional qualifications to meet the requirements of technology and innovation activities in practice.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

Technical and business-related decisions (both good and bad) can have a huge impact in creating huge wealth or pushing prosperous corporations into bankruptcy. Making decisions under conditions of risk and uncertainty is an important skill that forms the basis of modern data analytics to mine, process, and extract knowledge. The Decision Analysis module is designed to help students form, collect, analyze, model, and interpret information for "best" decision-making.
