6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This studio project explores tangible landscapes as subjects of resilient design. The course equips students with tools and methodologies essential for research and design in landscape design, focusing on public spaces within existing or newly developed urban contexts.

Throughout the project, theoretical knowledge introduced in the course will be applied to formulate landscape design solutions that embody resilient capabilities, aiming to address extreme environmental events and adapt to the impacts of climate change. Students will engage with strategies that support the development of ecological systems, enhance climate resilience, and promote long-term sustainability.

The course also introduces a systematic approach to spatial development that is context-sensitive, human-centered, and grounded in the principles of biodiversity and environmental stewardship. Emphasis is placed on the integration of local ecological, cultural, and social conditions into the design process.

By undertaking this design-based research, students will not only develop a critical and reflective design mindset but also build a portfolio of practical skills essential for professional practice in urban landscape design.

The site and studio topic will be selected every year in the current urban issues and challenges.
