5. Course Objectives:

This course aims to equip students with parametric thinking in architectural design through the use of computers and digital design software, with a primary focus on Revit. Students will develop an understanding of fundamental principles of digital applications in architecture, integrated design methodologies, and various workflows that meet both aesthetic and technical requirements. Through drawing, modeling, and prototyping exercises, the course develops students’ abilities to analyze, interpret, and produce architectural drawings in both digital and physical formats. Students will also learn to create surface and volume studies, investigate real-world design problems, and propose effective solutions using computer-aided design tools. In addition, the course fosters critical thinking, independent research skills, and a sense of responsibility in applying digital technologies within a professional architectural context.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course focuses on using computers and software as a mean of parametric thinking through drawing, modeling, and prototyping. Throughout the course, students will learn a variety of techniques on how to study and investigate real-world materials in the context of a professional environment and figure out the best way to communicate their design solutions to other stakeholders with their design skills.
The exercises will be performed with Revit. The principles and knowledge introduced and applied in this course can be applied in all other software and practical cases.
