5. Course Objectives:

This module enables students to develop a clear understanding of the concepts, classifications, and roles of intellectual property (IP) rights in the field of art. It fosters the ability to apply IP law to analyze, protect, and license digital creative works, as well as to formulate appropriate responses to infringements. At the same time, the module promotes awareness and respect for both individual and others’ intellectual property rights, contributing to sustainable development.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This module provides foundational knowledge of the concepts, classifications, and roles of intellectual property (IP) rights, with a focus on copyright (including related rights) and industrial property (patents, trademarks, and industrial designs). Students will gain an understanding of the protection process, licensing mechanisms, and key limitations and exceptions. The course also addresses legal enforcement measures and the application of IP law in digital art environments. Through lectures, discussions, and case studies, students will develop the ability to analyze the legal status of artworks, formulate rights management strategies, and propose solutions for protecting creative works.
