This module provides foundational knowledge of the concepts, classifications, and roles of intellectual property (IP) rights, with a focus on copyright (including related rights) and industrial property (patents, trademarks, and industrial designs). Students will gain an understanding of the protection process, licensing mechanisms, and key limitations and exceptions. The course also addresses legal enforcement measures and the application of IP law in digital art environments. Through lectures, discussions, and case studies, students will develop the ability to analyze the legal status of artworks, formulate rights management strategies, and propose solutions for protecting creative works.
