The course is designed to introduce students to the roles of managers and accountants in cost management in organizations and what role cost accounting plays to help managers in planning and controlling costs. The information provided by cost accounting is mainly for the management's decision making, in addition, it also provides information for the preparation of financial statements.
The course content provides basic knowledge about the nature, objectives, functions, contents and methods of cost accounting, cost classification and production cost accounting process and cost calculation according to two models, including: product costing based on actual costs along with product costing based on actual cost combined with estimated costs.
