The course aims to provide students with foundational knowledge of Vietnamese culture, including its values, characteristics, and manifestations throughout historical periods. Students will learn to identify and analyze the components that shape the Vietnamese cultural identity while understanding the interplay between tradition and modernity in the context of globalization. Through discussions, group projects, and research-based tasks, the course enhances students’ critical thinking, comparative analysis, and presentation skills in exploring Vietnamese cultural topics.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The course Introduction to Vietnamese Culture offers an overview of the origins, characteristics, values, and diversity of Vietnamese culture throughout the nation’s historical development. It covers key topics such as the concepts of culture and civilization, material and spiritual culture, regional cultural traits, beliefs and religions, folk arts, customs and traditions, and cultural exchange in the era of globalization. The course also aims to enhance students’ understanding of the role of culture in socio-economic development and to foster a sense of responsibility for preserving and promoting Vietnam’s unique cultural identity.
