- Understand the concepts of events, the probability of events, and the formulas for calculating probability.
- Master the concepts of random variables and be able to compute the basic statistical characteristics of random variables.
- Understand and apply the concepts of discrete distributions in related problems.
- Master the concepts of continuous distributions and apply them to related problems.
- Understand the concepts of samples and sampling distributions, and be able to solve related problems.
- Master the concepts of estimation and be able to apply them to estimation problems.
- Understand and apply statistical hypothesis testing methods in practical situations.
- Understand the concepts of analysis of variance and analysis of categorical variables, and be able to solve related problems.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
This course is designed to provide students with a solid understanding of basic concepts in probability and statistics, common discrete and continuous distributions, widely used estimation and hypothesis testing methods, as well as techniques for analysis of variance and categorical variable analysis.
