5. Course Objectives:

The objective of this course is to equip students with fundamental knowledge of the circular economy. Students will understand how to minimize resource use, promote reuse, repair, recycling,... to reduce waste and environmental impact. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify circular economy models and innovative methods in product design and production systems, with the main focus on transitioning from the traditional linear model of "take, make, consume, dispose" to a more sustainable "closed-loop" model, aiming to create a prosperous and environmentally friendly economic future.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The course begins by examining the consequences of continuing the linear production model, highlighting the necessity of transitioning to a circular economy in today's context. It then introduces core concepts of the circular economy and various circular economic models. Special emphasis is placed on innovative approaches to product design and sustainable production and supply systems. Finally, the course addresses the challenges of shifting from a linear to a circular economy, providing a foundation for applying the acquired knowledge to real-world economic and business practices.
