5. Course Objectives:

The course aims to equip students with fundamental knowledge of evaluating the various impacts of sustainable development. Students will develop comprehensive analytical skills, apply computational models, and use supporting tools. In particular, the course emphasizes real-world connections through project simulations and industry applications. The goal is to help students apply evaluation results to product development, process improvement, and the formulation of sustainable development strategies, while also fostering an awareness of the potential to create innovation opportunities and enhance competitiveness through a solid understanding.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The "Life Cycle Assessment" (LCA) course is designed based on the analytical method of evaluating the environmental impacts of products, services, or production processes throughout their entire life cycle. LCA is a crucial tool in sustainable development, enabling a comprehensive assessment of all stages, from raw material extraction, production, and distribution to usage, disposal, or recycling. Through this course, students will gain exposure to key methodologies, computational models, life cycle assessment tools, and supporting software. In addition to theoretical knowledge, students will engage in practical applications of LCA by analyzing real-world production processes, allowing them to propose solutions for improving and optimizing business operations. The course also emphasizes practical applications through simulation projects and group assignments, helping students develop systems thinking, teamwork skills, and decision-making abilities in the context of sustainable development.
