5. Course Objectives:

The aim of this course is to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to appraise investment projects, particularly from a sustainability perspective. The objectives of this course include: - Providing students with a solid foundation in the principles of investment project appraisal, with a focus on sustainable investments. - Guiding students on how to analyze and evaluate the technical, financial, environmental, and social aspects of an investment project. - Training students in preparing and effectively presenting investment project appraisal reports. By the end of this course, students will be capable of conducting comprehensive appraisals of investment projects, including their sustainability aspects.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The course equips students with fundamental knowledge and skills in project analysis and appraisal, enabling them to select investment projects that are economically effective and environmentally and socially sustainable. The course content includes:

  • An introduction to investment project appraisal (IPA) and the basic principles of IPA from different perspectives.
  • Analysis and evaluation of the project's technical aspects.
  • Analysis and evaluation of the project's financial aspects.
  • Analysis and evaluation of the project's environmental and social aspects.
  • Preparation and reporting of investment project appraisals.
