5. Course Objectives:

CG1: Specialized knowledge and technical requirements for environmental impact assessment (EIA) and environmental risk assessment (ERA). CG2: Legal foundations, regulations, and requirements of Vietnam and certain international organizations regarding environmental impact and risk assessments. CG3: Proficiency in applying EIA and ERA knowledge to assist businesses in complying with environmental protection issues and sustainable development. CG4: Ability to prepare environmental procedure reports and environmental risk management plans. CG5: Development of necessary professional skills and ethics to effectively carry out EIA and ERA tasks.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The subject Environmental Impact and Risk Assessment is a mandatory subject for 3rd year students majoring in Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Management, in order to equip them with specialized knowledge, legal documents, and regulations. Technical requirements for environmental impact assessment (EIA) and risk assessment (DRM) as a system of analysis, evaluation and forecasting tools to consider environmental issues, impacts impacts and risks to the ecosystem, health, economic and social conditions of various types of business activities.

The course aims to develop for students the skills to proficiently apply EIA and DRM methods, community consultation techniques, critical thinking skills and protection of impact forecast results and impact reduction measures. Develop and implement environmental and natural resource management plans.
