5. Course Objectives:

This course provides students with a foundation in IT security policy development, security management, and legal and ethical issues in security. Students will learn how to implement network security and safety measures, as well as manage security at the enterprise level. The course covers knowledge about network attack and defense strategies, web security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security services such as confidentiality, integrity, and authentication (CIA). Students will also learn about popular security technologies.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course is designed to equip students with IT security policy development and security management including legal and ethical issues in security audit and management. This course provides students with the necessary foundations to apply cybersecurity and enterprise-level security management from a technical and people management perspective, exploring security technologies. commonly used in industry. Topics cover cyberattack and defense strategies, including web security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, plus security services like confidentiality, integrity, authentication (CIA). A wide range of security technologies such as IPSec, SSL, PGP and S/MIME are covered in this course.
