5. Course Objectives:

The globalization process and the advancement of science and technology in recent years have created profound changes in the current business environment. One of those changes is the economic, cultural and other social exchanges between countries that have been promoted, overcoming the barriers of geographical distance and language. Multilateral and multinational connections are increasingly playing an important role in the development of the economy in general and the financial sector in particular. The great openness in the Vietnamese financial sector promotes exchanges in many aspects of financial institutions with different cultures in the world. Therefore, the course on Multicultural Management at Financial Institutions aims to raise students' awareness of the importance of learning and understanding multicultural knowledge in the management of financial institutions. Thereby, improving analytical skills to identify potential conflicts and turn these conflicts into advantages.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The banking-finance industry in today's dynamic business environment requires more and more multinational transactions and interactions among financial institutions. In such a context, the “multicultural management in financial institutions” course will provide learners with the fundamental insights, essential skills and multi-dimensional perspectives from financial institutions in governance, administration, and financial decision-making in a multicultural environment. Through the course, from the perspective of financial institutions, learners will have systematic access to important cultural concepts, cultural harmony and differences, norms and values that are specific and common from different cultures. Learners will have deep understanding about the impact of multiculturalism on the main activities of financial institutions through the following main topics: cultural factors in financial institutions, cultural and organizational planning, culture and strategy formulation, human resource culture and governance and cultural and financial decisions in financial institutions.
