5. Course Objectives:

The course Multinational Financial Management aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage finance in an international business context. The course helps students understand the international macroeconomic environment, master basic knowledge of macroeconomics and institutional bases affecting international finance. In addition, the course also helps students understand how to manage international finance for multinational companies, manage financial risks in an international environment and make reasonable and optimal financial decisions in the context of fluctuations in the global financial market.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The course aims to provide knowledge related to corporate financial management in the international business context. The content emphasizes two main parts:
(1) Macro-economics: the conceptual frameworks of macro-economic and the institutional foundations in the international financial environment; the roles/ impacts of these institutions/ factors on foreign exchange rate fluctuations; and the foreign exchange forecasting techniques and tools 
(2) International financial management: issues and opportunities of multinational companies in international financial markets, knowledge of foreign exchange derivatives (such as forward/ future/ option/ swaps contract) as well as foreign exchange risk management.
