This course provides students with a thorough understanding of how investment banks operate.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
This course is designed to provide students the advanced and specialized knowledge of the structure, management and practices of investment banking. It covers the business activities of mergers and acquisitions, financing and investment; and, the creation of value through financial advisory services such as corporate restructuring. It looks into the business practices of private equity, hedge funds and trading operations. In addition, students will be exposed to both the diagnostic and prescriptive processes of investment banking allowing them to take part in the financial advisory process and understand what it means to be an investment bank practitioner.
