This course is designed to consist of eight components, specifically:

History of Political Thought in the East, the West, and Vietnam: An exploration of major political ideas, their values, and their application in the contemporary period.
Political Power and the Mechanisms for Exercising Political Power in Vietnam: An analysis of the mechanisms for exercising political power, and the roles of political parties and the State.
The Relationship between Economics and Politics: An examination of the dialectical relationship between economics and politics and its application in the context of national renewal.
Political Parties and the Building of the Communist Party of Vietnam: An exploration of the role of political parties and the application of theory to contemporary Party building.
The Rule-of-Law State and Civil Society: A study of theories of the rule-of-law state and civil society, and their application to building a rule-of-law state in Vietnam.
Political Decision-Making: A study of theories of political decision-making and their application to the formulation of political platforms and lines.
The Political System and the Handling of Political Situations: An analysis of the contemporary political system, socio-political organizations, and principles for handling “hot” political situations in the current process of reform.
