5. Course Objectives:

International Political Economy I (IPE-1) equips students with foundational knowledge of international political economy, including global production structures; international trade structures; international finance and monetary systems; global knowledge structures; development challenges; emerging economies; global energy and environmental issues; and global health. On this basis, the course enables students to understand and analyze the key factors influencing the dynamics and development of the global economy, as well as to evaluate the economic, social, and environmental impacts of globalization on both developed and developing countries, including Vietnam. The course also aims to develop students’ scientific, independent, and critical thinking skills, enabling them to analyze global economic, social, and environmental trends and assess their implications for Vietnam. Furthermore, students are encouraged to apply theoretical knowledge to address practical economic, social, and environmental issues at both national and international levels in the context of globalization and international integration, in alignment with their fields of study.
