This module consists of 9 sessions, focusing on developing students' linguistic knowledge and academic skills in the field of economics through 6 lessons:
- Unit 1: Economics in the Modern World – An introduction to the concept of economics and its role in the modern world, including fundamental issues and global economic trends.
- Unit 2: How Economics is Organized – An exploration of how economies are structured, different economic systems, and the role of key economic organizations.
- Unit 3: Market Economies – A study of how markets operate, the concepts of supply and demand, and the role of pricing in market economies.
- Unit 4: Economics and Technology – A discussion on the impact of technology on the economy, including Industry 4.0 and the digital economy.
- Unit 5: Economics, Globalization, and Sustainability – An analysis of the relationship between economics, globalization, and sustainability issues, including climate change and sustainable development.
- Unit 6: Macroeconomics…but Microfinance! – An exploration of the connection between macroeconomics and microfinance, focusing on financial solutions for impoverished communities.
Students will engage in learning activities such as presentations, group discussions, and problem-solving tasks. The module also includes a speaking skills test and review activities to reinforce the knowledge acquired.
