5. Course Objectives:

The course aims to provide students with a foundational understanding of land law as it relates to land as a special category of property, clarifying the legal limitations on the exercise of rights over land and the role of the State both as the representative of the people’s collective ownership and as the authority responsible for land administration. Through this course, students develop the ability to understand and analyse the legal mechanisms governing the establishment, exercise, and termination of land use rights, as well as the methods for resolving land disputes in accordance with Vietnamese law. In addition to fostering legal reasoning and critical thinking, the course equips students with research skills and the ability to identify, interpret, and apply legal texts, along with skills in discussion and teamwork in academic and professional settings. Furthermore, students enhance their capacity for independent learning, time management, and the systematic preparation and presentation of academic work.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course provides students with a systematic foundation in Land Law, highlighting the distinctive nature of land as a special form of property and the significance of land law in socio-economic development. It examines the regime of collective ownership of land in Vietnam and analyses its implications for the formulation and implementation of land legislation. The course further explores the state management of land both as an exercise of the State’s role as the representative of the people’s ownership and as a form of public governance aimed at ensuring public order and protecting the lawful rights and interests of land users. In addition, students are equipped with essential legal knowledge concerning the legal status of land users, including the establishment, exercise, and termination of land use rights. The course also addresses the legal regimes governing different categories of land under Vietnamese law. Finally, it introduces the mechanisms for resolving land disputes in Vietnam, enabling students to apply legal knowledge to practical contexts.
