This course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the theory and practice of real estate investment. Students will learn about the concepts, methods and tools important in evaluating, managing and optimizing returns from real estate investments.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
The course introduces the interest in real estate capital markets. This course introduces the most fundamental concepts, principles, analytical methods and tools useful for making investment and finance decisions regarding commercial real estate.
Topics covered will span the real estate equity and debt markets. The bulk of the course focuses on commercial real estate. There are three major sections in the course: Public equity markets (Equity and mortgage REITS); public debt markets (the Commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) market); and Real Estate Private Equity.
