5. Course Objectives:

After completing this course, students will have a clear understanding of legal issues related to real estate and real estate financing. Analyze relevant real estate legal disputes. Theory of time value of money, credit policy, practice of making loan and repayment schedules with fixed and adjustable interest rate analysis tools. Understand investment principles to make investment decisions in individual residential and commercial real estate.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

Part 1: Discuss important legal concepts in real estate investment and financing as well as the legal issues associated with real estate investment and financing decisions.

Part 2: Discuss the concepts of monetary value over time that are important for investing in and mortgaging real estate. Also discuss the basic ways in which mortgage loans are established: Fixed-rate and adjustable-rate mortgages.

Part 3: Focus on the assessment of home buying by individual households as an investment.
