5. Course Objectives:

Demonstrate a solid understanding of microeconomic and macroeconomic principles as they apply to managerial decision-making. Explain the concepts of supply and demand, market structures, and the role of government in economic regulation. Utilize economic models and tools to analyze and solve real-world business problems. Evaluate pricing strategies, production decisions, and resource allocation using cost-benefit analysis. Evaluate the impact of external factors such as taxes, subsidies, and economic policies on business decisions. Apply marginal analysis and optimization techniques to improve resource allocation and operational efficiency.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

A primary emphasis of managerial economics is the application of economic theory and methodology to the practice of business management and decision making. Students will learn how economic tools can be applied to achieve business goals and to address managerial challenges. Completion of this problem requires an understanding of three topic areas: consumer analysis and demand forecasting, production and cost decisions, and market structure and strategy.
