5. Course Objectives:

This course integrates the concepts, tools and techniques used in strategic management. Through several insightful illustrations, students will have the opportunity to examine various elements of creating strategy for companies to achieve sustainable competitive advantage, including diagnosing their external and internal business environments. Students will also examine elements of executing strategy, including assessing the impact of organization-building actions, operations management, and corporate culture, leading to a critical evaluation of the role of strategic leadership. Students will use cases to analyze the nature of competitive advantage, and evaluate various strategies available to companies to promote sustainable growth in dynamic and continuously evolving business environments. This unit features a live business challenge in which students can show, by making inter-related decisions, their ability to practice strategic management at a company aiming to sustain competitiveness and growth in changing business environments.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This is a capstone unit in the business administration discipline. It integrates the concepts, tools and techniques used in strategic management.
