The Women4Mangrove (W4M) project focuses on conserving and restoring mangrove forests in Cù Lao Dung by developing women-centered regenerative livelihoods. The project promotes the processing of products derived from the Sonneratia caseolaris tree, community-based agro-tourism, and the preservation of indigenous culture. Its overall objective is to advance mangrove conservation and regeneration through the integration of sustainable livelihood models and the strengthening of community capacity, particularly among women and youth.
W4M aims to transform and upscale mangrove conservation by integrating regenerative livelihoods, reforestation, and community capacity building.
1. Establish a women-led mangrove nursery and training center for reforestation.
2. Support sustainable production of mangrove-based herbal tea (from Sonneratia flowers).
3. Develop community-based agritourism that promotes mangrove ecosystem and local cultural heritages.
