Finance

The high quality program in Finance (delivered in English) aims to equip students with broad, in-depth and modern knowledges in the field of corporate financial management, to meet the high-demanding competitive labor market at home in the era of regional and global economic integration. After graduation, in addition of acquiring broad and extensive professional knowledge, students should also have superior foreign language skills and information technology capability as comnpared to the regular program counterpart. This is enable the graduates to stand out in a very competitive job market nowadays and get ready to take jobs offered from different types of businesses, SMEs, large corporations, and multinational enterprises, at home and abroad. Students are also equiped with in-depth knowledge of financial markets, investment in financial markets to undertake highly specialized jobs at various intermediary financial institutions such as mutual funds, investment companies, securities & insurance companies and banks. Given that the global and local financial sector nowaday are changing quickly, finance graduates are trained with updated information technology skills, and the ability to work independently or in group collaboration, allowing them to work effectively and efficiently in a high-pressure business environment. Graduates are also equiped with a deep understanding of law, ethics for finance, self-study ability, and a desire for lifelong learning to advance their carreer. Finally, the program also aims to train students with ability to organize and work with others in group collaboration to fullfill a given task, and skills needed to conduct a sound scientific research to find covincing solutions for factual problems facing the organization.

Successfully passed the National High School Exam plus entrance policies of UEH; and English entry requirement IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.

1. Knowledge

  • Identify and explain economic, political, social, legal, information technology, and data science fundamentals
  • Demonstrate ability to summarize and systematically apply knowledge of economics, management and business, finance and accounting on organization’s activities.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge to explain and systematically analyze reality in the financial field.
  • Analyze factual problems in real world and apply broad and in-depth knowledge of financial management to an organization.
  • Relate theory to practice to plan, analyze and make financial decisions within an organization.
  • Apply in-depth theories in the reality of financial management and put them in contrast for decision making which should serve both the individual and institutional investors best in term of the trade-off between risk and expected returns.
  • Identify and design a scientific of apllied research in the field of finance.
2. Skills:
  • Have synthesis and calculation skills to make decisions on corporate financial management
  • Have skills in diagramming and analyzing big data for the process of making decision on financial management within the organization
  • Have English proficiency of TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) of 650 or higher; be skillful in using information technology at the level of IC3 (Internet and Computing Core Certification).
  • Have ability to discuss, present and explain how the changes in the business environment affect the firm’s operation and performance
  • Learn, combine and organize members in the team to effectively discuss, collaborate and solve complex problem in the field of corporate financial management.
  • Have ability to read and write a scientific research paper in related to factual problems in the financial field to find solutions to the existing problems.

  • Synthesize and gather necessary information for firm’s financial and cash flow forecasting.
  • Appraisal of all long-term capital investment projects for capital budgeting decision making.
  • Develop firm’s short-term and long-term financial planning
  • Analyze alternative dividend payout policies and its relationship with firm value.
  • Manage firm’s short-term assets and financing on a daily basis.
  • Evaluate alternative short-term and long-term financing to support investment in net working capital.

  • Analyze customer’s creditworthiness and making decisions on credits limit, structure of the loan contract and specified covenants.
  • Classification and review of borrower’s risk and credit ratings.
  • Inspect and supervise the process of using loan, ensure that collaterals are well managed.
  • Implement credits management and cash collection: monitor and push customers to repay debt principal and interest as scheduled;
  • Making proposals to restructure of the loan contract term, monitor the debt retirement, cash collection of debt principal, interest and fees (if any) until the loan contract is expired;
  • Create periodic analysis reports on bad loan and risks.
  • Perform internal credit ratings for customers in accordance with regulations and give opinions on setting up credit risk provisions.
  • Receive and check dossiers of request for interest exemption/reduction, making proposal for interest exemption/reduction
  • Develop a internal control system tomake sure compliance with the bank's credit limit policy for customers and regulation.
