Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice Presidentof UEH, was elected as the first Vice President of ACFE Vietnam Association.

On the morning of April 6, 2021, at Room B1.204 (Campus B - Nguyen Tri Phuong), the first meeting and exchange of the ACFE Vietnam Association took place at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). ACFE Vietnam Association's Board of Director made a presentation at the meeting, in which Dr. Bui Quang Hung - UEH Vice President was elected the first Vice President of this organization.
 
ACFE (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners) is an American fraud research organization founded in 1988 with the name of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. It is the largest anti-fraud organization in the world and a leading provider of anti-fraud training and education. Together with more than 85,000 members from more than 125 countries, ACFE helps reduce business fraud globally and gives the community a sense of integrity and objectivity in professional organizations (Source: https: //www.acfe.com/about-the-acfe.aspx).
The program had about 20 attending delegates. On the side of business leaders, there were Mr. Saman Bandara - Senior Vice President of Ernst & Young Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Mr. Ivan Pham - Deputy General Director of Deloitte Vietnam Company Limited; Mr. Naoki Fukumoto - Director of I-Glocal Resources Ltd.'s branch in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Thomas Hung Tran - Deputy General Director of PwC Vietnam and a team of fraud investigators at consulting services companies such as PwC Vietnam, Deloitte Vietnam, EY Vietnam, I-Glocal, Prudential ...
On the side of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), there were Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice Principal; Dr. Tran Anh Hoa - Head of School of Accounting; Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Bao An - Deputy Head of School of Accounting; MSc. Pham Thi Ngoc Bich - Deputy Head of Auditing subject, School of Accounting.
Delivering the opening remarks, Mr. Saman Bandara - Senior Vice President of Ernst & Young Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared three main goals of establishing ACFE in Vietnam, including: promoting social identity with members who are Notarized Fraud Prevention Inspectors (CFE); increasing social awareness about the necessity of preventing and combating business fraud; coordinate with educational institutions to update knowledge about fraud investigation into undergraduate and graduate training programs.

At the meeting, Dr. Bui Quang Hung - UEH Vice President welcomed ACFE Association members to visit and work with the school. UEH is one of the key national universities, leading in the fields of economics and business; in which there are accounting and auditing. The school has been constantly innovating in all aspects, particularly the construction of new campuses, including UEH Campus - Nguyen Van Linh (11 hectares) with the orientation of "Green campus". In particular, the school also constantly updates new training programs according to market demands. UEH soon recognized the need of society to investigate business fraud, so it introduced the subject "Fraud investigation in accounting" to the graduate level in 2020 and plans to bring this subject into the school's curriculum at the university level in 2021.
The Vice President also shared the university's honor to cooperate with ACFE Association and become Vice President of ACFE Vietnam Association. He believes that this cooperation will contribute to promoting the Association's activities, promoting the exchange of training activities, internship programs and training talented students who are high-quality human resources in the field of Accounting and Auditing.

The participants focused on discussing how to build and develop a Fraud Investigation profession in Vietnamese businesses. Delegates also raised the need for a business fraud investigation service for businesses as the demand for this service is increasing, along with the rapid growth of domestic firms in the industry. Therefore, human resources with knowledge and skills to prevent, prevent and investigate business fraud are essential.

All participants highly agreed with members of the Board of Presidents on the strategy and action plan of ACFE Vietnam Association in the coming time.
