UEH 2nd Doctoral and Master's Graduation Ceremony 2023

On the morning of October 22, 2023, at Hall A.116, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) solemnly held the 2nd Doctoral and Master's Graduation Ceremony 2023. This was an opportunity to honor 555 new graduates who had outstanding achievements throughout their learning, research and international publication.

Attending the Graduation Ceremony, from the UEH leadership side were: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of UEH Council; Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH; Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Vice Head of UEH College of Business; Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Khanh Nam - Vice Head of UEH College of Economics, Law and Government; Associate Professor, Dr. Trinh Thuy Anh - Vice Head of UEH College of Technology and Design; Leaders of schools with doctoral and master's programs; Professors, Associate Professors, Lecturers, students, Graduate Schools and new Doctors and new Masters.

Overview of the Graduation Ceremony

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH - sent his congratulations and appreciation for the outstanding efforts in learning, research and international publication of new doctors and masters in recent times. He shared: “University of Economics Ho Chi Minh has a history of development of 47 years. During that process, UEH has been performing excellently the task of training high-quality human resources, serving and contributing to the country's economic development. On behalf of the University's leadership, I would like to congratulate the 19 new Doctors and 536 new Masters for their excellent learning and research. New graduates have the right to be proud to graduate from UEH - a brand that has been affirmed and positioned as a prestigious, high-quality university in Vietnam and the region in terms of training and research that gradually integrates strongly into modern education in the world. From the knowledge equipped from the school, with the ability to self-study and research, I believe that new graduates will become good experts, lecturers, and brave leaders who can work in the domestic and world markets.”

At this Graduation Ceremony, UEH officially awarded Doctoral and Master's degrees to 555 students. Of these, 19 PhD degrees were awarded to graduates in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Commercial Business, Business Administration, Banking and Development Economics. In particular, 6 PhD students defended their theses in English medium with a Council comprising foreign experts and professors. The candidates have published 14 research articles in prestigious world-ranked journals (collectively referred to as SCOPUS) and 21 articles attended prestigious international conferences with ISBNs. At the same time, 536 Master Degrees were awarded to students in Business Administration, Finance - Banking, Accounting, and Commercial Business at UEH College of Business; Economic Law, State Management, Development Economics and Economic Management at UEH College of Technology and Design; Economic Statistics, Management Information System at UEH College of Economics, Law and Government.

The ceremony ended successfully and marked a new achievement in UEH's postgraduate training, demonstrating the efforts of the entire university with the dedication to training high-quality human resources for the country, the result of the dedication of teachers, and the learning and research efforts of all students.

Also from that day, students would be able to join the UEH Alumni network with nearly 250,000 UEH alumni to promote good traditions, share, cooperate and support each other for development.

Over 47 years of development, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City has become a prestigious and key University on the domestic education map and officially became one of 7 higher education institutions in Vietnam operating under the model of "Multi-disciplinary University, consistent and integrated with the system of advanced universities in the world. Along that journey, UEH has fulfilled its responsibility in contributing to the training of high-quality human resource, capable of working and integrating internationally. During more than 33 years of postgraduate training, UEH has educated more than 15,000 Masters and nearly 600 Doctors and they are promoting their role very well in central, local businesses and organizations, contributing to the country's development.
