UEH to host workshop on “Promoting the connection between production and consumption of agricultural products and proposing policies for key Economic Regions of the South”

Connecting production and consumption of agricultural products is an important step in promoting economic development towards the production of safe and sustainable agricultural products for provinces and cities in the Southern Key Economic Region.

To contribute to the general solution proposal on the Project, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, along with other relevant departments within key Economic Regions of the South, has coordinated to organize the Seminar on promoting the connection between production and consumption of agricultural products while also proposing new policies for the area. The Seminar was held on June 4, 2020 at UEH Campus A.

Attending the program, guest participants from Ho Chi Minh City included Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Justice, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Food Safety Management Authority, Sub - Department of Animal Health, Sub - Department of Rural Development, Center for Agricultural Consultancy and Support. Additionally, the Seminar also welcomed other provincial leaders from Departments of Industry and Trade, the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Southern Key Economic Region (Tien Giang, Tay Ninh, Long An, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong), Lam Dong’s Department of Industry and Trade; the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and the Project Management Board. The seminar brought together nearly 100 delegates.

At the seminar, the delegates of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Provinces, Cities and relevant agencies have successfully exchanged ideas about Safe and Sustainable practices for food consumption in Ho Chi Minh City, and moving forward, strive to propose provincial-level policies and regulations to establish regional chain of agricultural products production and consumption
