UEH‘s President becomes a member of the Advisory Board of the Asian Law and Economics Association (AsLEA)

On 16th February, 2019, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - President of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has officially been a member of the Advisory Board of the Asian Law and Economics Association (AsLEA) together with other professors from regional and world most accredited universities such as Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) and SungKuynKwan University (Korea). This contributes greatly to the status of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in the education and training of economics and law within the Asian region.

Being appointed a member of Asian Law & Economics Association proved complete trust over the role and dedication of UEH’s Prof. President Nguyen Dong Phong in the development of AsLEA as well as the fields of Asian economics and law.

This event enables to generate motivation for other UEH lecturers to join in other global scientific associations over different fields in the upcoming years with the hope of boosting the academic exchange activities. Participation in accredited associations is one of the most necessary activities to increase UEH academic status. Since the academic status of a university plays a pivotal role in the ranking of global universities.

Established in 2005, the Annual Asian Law & Economics Association (AsLEA) is an international non-governmental organization. The President of the AsLEA is Professor Euston Quah of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The First AsLEA Conference was held at Seoul National University and the later annual conferences were held in Asian countries by the Association. The AsLEA's scientific journal, “Asian Journal of Law and Economics”, published in 2010.

In 2017, the 13th Annual Asian Law & Economics Association (AsLEA) Conference officially took place at UEH. This was the first time that the AsLEA Conference had been held in Vietnam.
