The fact that the parties are subject to other legal proceedings while simultaneously engaging in the arbitral proceedings is one of key challenges during dispute settlement process. As can be seen, the procedures and consequences of parallel proceedings may interrupt or prolong the arbitration proceedings; however, existing regulations governing and addressing such situations still present certain shortcomings. This poses significant obstacles for arbitral tribunals and arbitration institutions in managing arbitral proceedings and resolving disputes efficiently.
With the aim of compiling analyses and assessments of factors that affect the time efficiency of resolving disputes by arbitration, particularly emphasizing legal procedures occurring concurrently with arbitration, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and the College of Economics, Law and Government, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (CELG-UEH), co-organize the Workshop “Time efficiency in arbitration under the effect of parallel proceedings”. Through experts’s sharing and interactive discussions, the event is expected to provide valuable insights and practical applications, offer constructive recommendations for arbitration legal framework to address such situations more effectively and minimize delays in dispute resolution.
