As gender equality increasingly becomes a global standard in corporate governance, the role of women on boards of directors carries not only social significance but also a substantive impact on corporate strategic decisions. A research team from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has examined the relationship between women’s representation on boards of directors and the level of risk-taking among listed companies in Vietnam, thereby providing additional empirical evidence affirming the growing importance of women in modern corporate governance.

In November 2025, the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) officially announced that seven international research projects under the Global Environment Facility (GEF) – UNEP grant program would receive a total of $350,000 in funding through the SEA Grants. This is a flagship pilot program designed to promote sustainable local solutions for marine and coastal conservation across the East Asian Seas. Among them, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) is honored to be the lead institution for the "Women4Mangrove – Empowering Women for Nature-based Coastal Solutions" project in Vietnam, which aims to develop a model for mangrove conservation and restoration linked to community livelihoods, particularly for women in coastal areas.

Within the framework of the project “Empowering Change: A Comprehensive Approach to Climate Action, Sustainable Development, and Behavior Change for Female Scholars in Ho Chi Minh City,” the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), in collaboration with London South Bank University (United Kingdom) and the Southern Institute of Water Resources Research, successfully organized the course “Integrated Modern Communications for Sustainable Marketing.” The course closing session, held on August 3, 2025, marked the success and broad dissemination of the project’s message.
