Call for Applications Mini-Course: General Equilibrium Theory and Applications

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Studies in Economics and Data Science (CASED), is pleased to announce a mini-course on General Equilibrium Theory and Applications. This course provides rigorous training in foundational theoretical economic models and equips participants with tools to formalize economic intuition using analytical frameworks.

Course Objectives

The course introduces core theoretical models in general equilibrium and demonstrates their applications in macroeconomics and financial economics. Participants will learn how to construct and analyze formal economic models and interpret their implications through analytical reasoning and numerical simulations.

Topics

- Existence of a general equilibrium  in pure Exchange economy and economy production economy models

- Economies with financial markets. Asset pricing examples

- Welfare theorems

- Economic growth and decentralized economies 

- General Equilibrium with externalities

- Numerical simulations and model applications

Target Audience

Graduate students and early-career researchers in: Economics, finance, applied mathematics, and related quantitative disciplines.

- Duration: 8 lectures (3 hours each: from 15:00 - 18:00 GMT+7)

- Schedule: Three lectures per week (Tuesday - Thusday - Saturday)

- Start date: June 9th, 2026

- Course fee: USD 180 - 4.700.000 VND

- Certificate: Issued by UEH and CASED upon completion
