Collaboration of Professor Greenwood AT UEH - CELG

 

The Board of Directors of UEH has invited Prof. Stephen Greenwood from the National Policy Consensus Center (NPCC) at Portland State University to work at the School of Government, CELG-UEH. His work will focus on promoting international integration and cooperation in education and training. Prof. Greenwood is going to be at UEH and working with the faculty and students from February 17th to March 26th, 2024.

He has over three decades of experience in public service at the federal, state, and local levels, and previously served as the Deputy Director of NPCC. For more than 20 years, he has facilitated and mediated numerous collaborative groups working on public policy issues and has designed and led collaborative governance and leadership training both in the U.S. and internationally. He is the lead faculty for Portland State University’s online Graduate Certificate Program in Collaborative Governance and a visiting lecturer at the University of Eastern Finland.

Prof.Greenwood holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He received a Fulbright fellowship in 1991 to assist the government of Portugal. He is the 2007 recipient of the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the University of Oregon’s Planning, Public Policy and Management program, and co-author of an internationally-used textbook on collaborative governance.

Prof. Greenwood will provide valuable insights and expertise during his time at UEH. His contributions will include the following activities:

(1) Improving the syllabus of the subject "Collaborative Management" at master's level

(2) Implementing a joint research project with SOG's lecturers for international or national publication as a research product

(3) Presenting in one seminar for lecturers of SOG and CELG on scrutinizing and resolving issues/policies in provinces or cities

(4) Presenting in one seminar for CELG's lecturers and provincial policymakers on "Collaborative Management"

With his wealth of knowledge and experience, Prof. Greenwood will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to the advancement of education and training at UEH. Finally, Prof. Greenwood says he is very much looking forward to being in Vietnam again and working with the faculty and students at UEH.
