On October 26, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) will host the UEH50 Global Leadership Forum 2026, bringing together senior university leaders and international partners to exchange perspectives on governance, technology, sustainable development, and collaboration aimed at enhancing the impact of higher education on learners, communities, and society.
Taking place within the framework of UEH’s 50th anniversary activities (October 27, 1976 – October 27, 2026), the UEH50 Global Leadership Forum 2026 is themed “Embracing Change: The Future of Impact in Higher Education”
The Forum addresses a question of growing concern among universities: In the face of rapid technological, environmental, economic, and social change, how must universities transform their governance, collaboration, and institutional models to create more meaningful and sustainable value?
The centerpiece of the Forum is the leadership panel discussion “Rethinking Universities for Impact: Governance, Collaboration and Transformation”, structured around three core pillars.
Beyond Campus Walls – Universities as Place-based Partners. How can universities become more deeply embedded in their cities and regions; moving from consultation to co-design, co-implementation, and co-accountability with governments, businesses, and communities?
Tech for Good – Human-centered Digitalization. How can AI, data, EdTech, and digital governance strengthen rather than diminish the human dimensions, inclusiveness, academic freedom, integrity, and learner experience of universities?
Measurable Impact – From Sustainability Commitments to Evidence. How can commitments to the SDGs, ESG, and social responsibility be translated into tangible change in strategy, education, research, operations, and impact measurement systems?
Running across the three pillars is “Partnerships for Collective Impact” – a defining highlight of the UEH50 Global Leadership Forum 2026, which raises the question of how international university partnerships can move beyond traditional academic exchange models.
Rather than focusing solely on student and faculty exchanges or collaborative research, partners are invited to jointly identify challenges to be addressed, co-design initiatives, and implement solutions that create shared value for learners, communities, cities, and society.
The panel discussion is therefore structured as a leadership dialogue, without formal presentations. Panelists will be invited to share practical institutional changes, governance and implementation challenges, lessons learned, and areas where deeper international collaboration could generate greater value in the future.
Taking place one day before UEH’s 50th anniversary, the UEH50 Global Leadership Forum 2026 is not merely a retrospective on a university’s development journey, but a forward-looking dialogue on the forces shaping the future of higher education.
From governance and technology to sustainable development and international partnership, the Forum converges on a shared purpose: how the knowledge and resources of universities can be translated into more meaningful impact for learners, communities, and society.
