In response to the Government’s initiative “Making English a Second Language in Schools for the 2025–2035 period, with a vision to 2045,” the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) is organising the Vietnam National Forum on English-Medium Instruction (EMI) 2026 under the theme “English-Medium Instruction: A Strategic Driver for Vietnam's National English as a Second Language Initiative.”

The Forum provides an academic platform for policy dialogue, international experience sharing, and discussions on the practical implementation of English-Medium Instruction, while connecting education authorities, educational institutions, experts, lecturers, teachers, international education organisations, and businesses interested in the development of EMI in Vietnam.
In addition to highlighting UEH’s internationalisation journey and English-medium programmes, the Forum will showcase the outcomes of the strategic partnership between UEH and Oxford EMI, with a focus on faculty capacity development and the internationalisation of higher education. The programme also lays the foundation for the establishment of the Vietnam English-Medium Instruction Network, strengthening connections and collaboration in the field of EMI in Vietnam.
Through the Forum, UEH aims to expand its network of cooperation in English-Medium Instruction and the internationalisation of education, while laying the foundation for the Forum to become an annual academic event and for the development of a national EMI cooperation network.
