To support UEH faculty members, researchers, and especially Research Groups in strengthening their capacity to identify international funding opportunities, select suitable calls, and develop them into concrete project proposals, the Department of Research - Development and Global Engagement (RDGE), in collaboration with Clarivate, is organizing the “Pivot-RP & Grant Writing Workshop”.
The workshop is designed with a practical approach, guiding participants through the full process from funding discovery and selection of promising funding calls to the development of concrete project proposals.
Time: 09:00 - 12:00, Tuesday, September 22, 2026
Format: Hybrid (faculty members and Research Groups will attend in person at Room A.207, 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City; participants from the Vinh Long Campus will join online)
Language: English
Session 1 – Pivot-RP Funding Discovery
Speaker: Ms. Dju-Lyn Chng, Strategic Customer Success Consultant, APAC Academia & Government – Clarivate
In this session, participants will learn how to use the Pivot-RP database to identify funding opportunities relevant to their research areas and practice using keywords, filters, and semantic search to improve search effectiveness, with support from RDGE.
Working & Discussion Session
Following the first session, faculty members and Research Groups will work together to review, discuss, and select 1–2 promising funding calls that match their research directions and capabilities. These selected calls will then serve as the basis for developing project ideas and proposals in the Grant Writing session.
Session 2 – Grant Writing
Speaker: Assoc. Prof. Trinh Tu Anh, Rector, Institute of Smart City and Management – UEH
Building on the selected funding calls, participants will be guided on how to develop funding opportunities into concrete project ideas and proposals. Assoc. Prof. Trinh Tu Anh will also share practical experience in preparing, refining, and submitting funding proposals.
Through the workshop, participants are expected to become more confident in searching for and assessing funding calls, selecting opportunities aligned with their research interests, developing them into proposals, and preparing and submitting project applications in practice.
UEH particularly encourages Heads/Co-Heads and members of Research Groups, as well as faculty members interested in pursuing international research funding, to participate in the full workshop.
