In a context where enterprises are increasingly focusing on long-term strategy and sustainable development, strategic management accounting plays an important role in providing information for planning and decision-making. From this perspective, a research team from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has studied how information is organized, integrated, and processed on the platform of the accounting information system; thereby proposing orientations to improve the quality of strategic management accounting reports, providing information that is long-term in nature, broad in scope, and better suited to managers' strategic decision-making needs.
In the journey toward sustainable development, businesses are not only affected by government policies or consumer pressure but also by those who hold investment capital. As environmental criteria increasingly become a measure of competitiveness, a question arises: can investors become a driving force for businesses to operate more sustainably, or are they simply seeking financial profits?
After three years of implementation, the Jean Monnet Module “Sustainable Development in the European Union: Jean Monnet Interdisciplinary Module” (EU4Sustainability) at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has successfully achieved significant milestones in education, academic research, and knowledge dissemination on sustainable development. Through interdisciplinary courses, annual scientific conferences, international publications, and community engagement activities, the project has contributed to bringing the European Union’s knowledge, policies, and practices on sustainable development closer to UEH students, academics, and the wider community.
