The year 2025 marked a pivotal transition in UEH Mekong's development journey. As an extended arm of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), the young campus has evolved into a training and research center oriented toward sustainable development for the Mekong Delta and the Greater Mekong Subregion.
Marking the 5-Year Founding Milestone: From UEH Vinh Long to UEH Mekong "For a Sustainable Mekong Delta"
On January 3, 2025, UEH Mekong solemnly held the 5th Anniversary Celebration (December 4, 2019 – December 4, 2024) under the theme "For a More Sustainable Mekong – For a Sustainable Mekong Delta and Greater Mekong Subregion." This event served as a significant milestone, affirming UEH Mekong's transformation in stature, positioning, and mission – from UEH Vinh Long to UEH Mekong.

Additionally, Party building efforts and the development of mass organizations received significant attention. UEH Mekong successfully organized the Party Committee Section Congress for the 2025-2030 term, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Conference for the 2025-2027 term, and the Student Association Congress for the 2025-2028 term, consolidating the political and organizational foundation to create a solid premise for the new development phase.

Training Milestone – Enhancing Human Resource Quality for Vinh Long Province and the Region
UEH Mekong's current training scale encompasses nearly 2,800 learners across all programs, with 100% of the second cohort of new graduates in 2025 achieving Good standing or higher and securing employment after graduation. Admissions for 2025 also achieved positive results, with the full-time undergraduate enrollment confirmation rate reaching 91.5% – the highest in the past 5 years; part-time program admissions reached 92.5%. Postgraduate admissions and professional development programs, despite being affected by provincial merger, remained stable.
UEH Mekong's international exchange and cooperation activities continued to expand in 2025, welcoming delegations of experts and speakers from 12 countries and engaging in exchanges with 14 delegations of international experts and students from 6 partner universities.

In 2025, UEH Mekong recorded 194 research works, including 9 Scopus/ISI publications aligned with SDGs and Mekong regional development. The campus also organized national and international scientific conferences, affirming its role as an academic anchor for the region.

Student activities also recorded numerous achievements in research, academics, and entrepreneurship, with 22 Young Researcher projects completed, 47 newly registered projects, and 14 awards at the UEH Young Researcher Competition. Academic clubs continuously innovated and developed, with 2 new clubs established and over 90 activities implemented.

With the Development Strategy for 2025-2030, UEH Mekong implemented 7 key initiatives focusing on consolidating internal strength and enhancing competitiveness through priority orientations: faculty development, improving training quality aligned with international integration and digital transformation, promoting innovation, strengthening community connections, modernizing governance and infrastructure, and ensuring a sustainable financial foundation for the next development phase.

In 2025, UEH Mekong launched the Let's Green Unitour program within the framework of the UEH Green Campus Project, aiming to spread the Green University model and create an experiential space for the sustainable university ecosystem for the high school student community in the area.

UEH Mekong continues to affirm its role in community connection and accompanying local development through training activities, knowledge transfer, volunteer work, and sustainable development cooperation.

UEH Mekong collaborated with the Vinh Long Provincial Department of Education and Training to organize the training course "AI Applications in Work" for nearly 30,000 teachers from preschool to high school levels across Vinh Long Province
