2nd Graduation Ceremony for more than 2,200 new graduates of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in 2024, being ready to enter the high-quality labor market

From July 29 to 31, 2024, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) solemnly organized the 2^nd Graduation Ceremony in 2024 for new graduates of the full-time and part-time modes. UEH's new graduates will officially enter the labor market, ready to contribute to society and the economy through studying hard, improving professional capacity, mastering technology, and global thinking.

The UEH Graduation Ceremony 2024 was honored to have the participation of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - University Director; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Director of the University; Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Director of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the Strategy and Policy Advisory Council; Board of Directors of UEH member colleges; Professors, Associate Professors, PhDs; Heads and Deputy Heads of UEH's affiliated units and member colleges, along with the presence of parents, relatives, and friends of the new graduates.

Congratulating the new graduates, Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - University Director - remarked: “After nearly 50 years of construction and development, it can be affirmed that UEH has been excellently and comprehensively performing the task of training high-quality human resources, serving and contributing to the country's economic development. UEH has made many impressive and comprehensive steps and transformations in all aspects of its activities: implementing university autonomy with many positive results; innovating and developing advanced training programs in line with the international integration trend; increasing resources to support the development of scientific research and publications in prestigious international journals, contributing to increasing UEH's academic reputation; developing modern facilities; and officially becoming a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University, one of the 7 universities in Vietnam. All of the above strong efforts of the school are aimed at best equipping students to confidently enter the highly competitive labor market, quickly adapting to the domestic and regional markets. Therefore, when graduating from a school with a long tradition, one of the prestigious high-quality training addresses in economics, management, business, law, technology and design in the regional and world markets, new UEH graduates have the right to be proud of the journey they have gone through and can be completely confident about the achievements they have obtained, the knowledge they have been equipped with to be ready to conquer the open career path."

The graduation ceremony 2024 of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City this time has 2,294 new bachelors officially graduating. Of these, there are 2,105 students from the HCMC Campus and UEH Vinh Long Campus and 136 part-time students. They come from the following Schools: School of International Business - Marketing, School of Foreign Languages, School of Politics, School of Management, School of Banking, SChool of Tourism, School of Accounting, School of Finance, School of Economics, School of Law, School of Public Finance, School of Government, School of Mathematics - Statistics and School of Business Information Technology.

The new graduates of UEH have had a hard-working learning process and achieved proud results with 61 students graduating with excellence, 958 students graduating with Distinction and 1119 fair students. In particular, they all completed and achieved high results in skill requirements such as:

- IC3 (The Internet and Computing Core Certification) is an international computer certification that assesses knowledge and ability to use computers, software and the Internet, provided by Certiport Computer Testing Organization (USA) and is valid indefinitely and recognized globally.

- English certificates: TOEIC, IELTS, VPET, TOEFL iBT, etc.

Expressing his emotions at his own important Ceremony, fresh graduate Nguyen Hoang Nhat Duy, valedictorian of Human Resource Management, asserted: “When I started my university journey, I brought with me many ambitions and dreams. It was a challenging journey, where I learned how to face difficulties, how to work in a team, and how to apply theory to practice. University is not only a place to impart knowledge, but also a place to give wings to dreams, a place to nurture young and enthusiastic souls. I am extremely lucky to be able to study and develop in the humane and intellectual university environment of UEH. ”

As a generation of students who grew up during the period when UEH implemented its strategy to become a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University, the new graduates had access to multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary knowledge with programs designed to be incorporated into many various fields, especially Technology and Applied Design. In addition, the dynamic learning and training environment with teams, clubs and more helped them develop many soft skills.

This is also the first year that the generation of students at UEH Vinh Long Campus officially graduated from majors listed as Corporate Accounting, International Business, Management, Finance - Banking, and E-commerce with the result of 100% of graduates having jobs. With the acquired knowledge and skills, they have found diverse job opportunities, becoming the young workforce contributing to the economy of the Mekong Delta region, thereby, affirming the brand of UEH in training high-quality human resources after nearly 5 years of setting a milestone in this region.

Congratulations to the new graduates of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City! For this time being, the new UEH graduates are ready to enter the competitive labor market, integrate internationally, and contribute to economic and social development. After completing their undergraduate studies, 2,294 new UEH graduates will join the team of more than 300,000 former students and alumni of all levels and modes of UEH, together connecting and contributing to the development of the country.
